The offical community discord will undergo a few changes. Some of them have been requested by the community (roles for more fine-grained announcements), others are proposed by the developers.
One goal is to offload the support work from the developers. The community should handle most support. Developers shall only be involved when they are actually needed (bugs, complex topics etc.). Therefore, every Quest Master and Quest Expert should be allowed to close discord tickets.
Most of these changes will be powered by a custom discord bot.
@everyone Every normal announcement. In addition to @everyone, more fine grade roles have been requested. These will be pinged for more frequent updates:
@DevInsider Get's pinged for everything that is slighly relevant to devs.
@QuestInsider Is pinged for every change that may be relevant to a normal user.
These can be obtained via server onboarding / customization.
A few role dividers shall be added by the bot when needed. These should clear up the rank overview.
Example from the Mythic discord:
Current state with all roles mixed:
/closeRequest
sends a message that informs the user that it is unclear if their ticket is completed. Additionally, the ⏲️ emoji is added the the threads name.
Users can react with two Buttons: Yes
and No
to remove the ⏲️ emoji from the channels name or to archive it./close
sends a message informing the user about the ticket being closed. The thread will be renamed with a ✅ emoji at the start and everyone with the @QuestSupport role will be removed from the thread.
